Bazooka Tophat

Version One Iteration Fortey

When I began Bazooka Tophat, I was exploring how digital images could retain the "singular uniqueness" of a painting. To achieve this, I treated my process as a series of digital monotypes, or what my studio calls "S-Type" prints.

The evolution of the series was born from necessity. Frequent machine crashes forced me to take snapshots of every significant alteration. These "saves" captured the raw development of the work—from the crude production quality of the early iterations to the unrefined appropriation of masters like de Kooning. By documenting every shift in direction, I created a unique collecting challenge: to truly own the image, one must possess the entire lineage of its iterations.
