Pari Delicto

The Pari Delicto or "equal fault" series created 55 images focusing on marksmanship while using graphics in opposition. They rely on discovering by chance or at least unexpectedly alternate ways to develop.

The Knorr chicken packaging has functioned as a recurring motif since its 2012 inception in Monkey Three. I originally designated Pari Delicto as the final iteration for this found-object iconography before its formal retirement from the series.

The composition is defined by a consistent horizontal axis that bifurcates the picture plane. Over the course of the chronology, a distinct hierarchical arrangement emerged: the superior register became populated with the "Chickorn Feed" graphic, while the inferior register was anchored by the Knorr branding. Tracking this sequential progression offers a compelling look at the formal evolution within the series.

My intent was to interrogate the spatial logic and compartmentalization established in Ballerina Twinkies (Singles and Doubles). While the project yielded significant aesthetic breakthroughs, it remains in a state of non finito, having been abandoned at the one-third mark of its developmental trajectory.
