Figure Genesis
Presented in chronoligical order following the Pin-Up deKooning series evolution.

At its core the Pin-Up deKooning are monotype (single) prints. The image was constructed and mastered digitally. This allowed the entire life cycle of the series to be represented, its entire history tracked as versions and variants. Only one print of any image was ever made (signed and authenticated), there is no proclaimed final image this effectively decentralizes the consumer from exclusive ownership. This   would consequently elevate every image to the same collectable value. Some would argue that it is a form of franchising the series. I kind of like that notion.

The Pin-Up deKooning series developed into dual personalities during the production cycle. One version devoted a literal version of the source image which was found on the internet of a “camera club” model in an Indian headdress. This personality became known as Susan. The other version of the pin-up figure was a different story altogether. She would appear when Susan’s nudity and literalism no longer work- ed or was seen as an obstacle for gallery display. This personality became known as Rachael

This overview shows just when the two personalities appeared.
